The Beginning

Yesterday we celebrated the life of this amazing woman, friend, mother, wife.

She blogged briefly about her journey through cancer and her words are filled with hope, love and her unending faith.

I’ll miss you, Mal. You were a gift to the world and everyone you touched.

A Tree Inside

This is the beginning. But it is ever really a beginning, the middle or the end. Image

I now know that in life, expect the unexpected. Never in a million years did I think that I would be diagnosed with brain cancer. When the doctor told us that it was a grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme, I seriously felt like the life was sucked out of my system. Grade 4 is like stage 4 for all you cancer suave people. The type of tumor I have is only located in the brain and does not metastasize in other areas of the body. Thank God for that. Really, thank you, God.

I took the path commonly travelled with cancer patients. I put trust the doctors, believing that their medical knowledge would take me the distance and save me from myself. I went to every appointment, took every pill prescribed, and completed chemo treatment…
